Before the COVID-19 pandemic, our founder Alvin Koay started Growth.pro: a full-blown SEO agency. The agency quickly grew into a trusted partner for international brands, but Alvin couldn’t shake what he had long observed: the SEO industry was riddled with broken promises.
He saw too many small businesses – mom-and-pop shops, solopreneurs, ecommerce founders – being tied down by contracts, misled with jargon, and handed reports that looked impressive but delivered no real outcomes. Agencies often maximized their retainers while their clients stayed invisible online. Alvin himself had felt the sting of being an underdog in business, and this struck a nerve.
The challenge was clear: how could Growth.pro’s values -empathy, trust, accountability, transparency, and integrity – be scaled beyond a service agency, so even the smallest businesses could access world-class strategies without being exploited?
Alvin’s desire was simple yet ambitious: to create a solution that democratized SEO, AEO, and GEO. A solution that anyone – regardless of company size or budget – could use to compete fairly against giants.
Instead of building more human-heavy agency layers, Alvin and his team decided to clone Growth.pro’s ethos and expertise into AI itself. The idea was not to build another agency tool, but a highly intelligent co-pilot that worked as a conversational “butler” for digital growth.
That decision gave birth to Zicy:

Ritu brings over 15 years of experience from the corporate sector, where she led projects in the environmental industry. Additionally, she has spent the last 10 years working in SEO, focusing on strategy and content planning. At Zicy, she applies her experience to develop practical AI-first optimisation methods that help businesses become visible in AI-generated answers.
Peter Kua
Chief Data Officer
Peter Kua is a distinguished data science strategist, entrepreneur, and thought leader with extensive experience in big data analytics and artificial intelligence. He has made significant contributions to the field through his leadership roles and strategic initiatives in various organizations.
Peter headed the Data Science and Analytics team at REV Media Group (formerly Media Prima Digital), where he was responsible for developing high-value, data-driven business cases and fostering a data-driven culture within the organization. He played a pivotal role in driving Malaysia’s National Big Data Analytics (BDA) Initiative under the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). His efforts included the development of the first National BDA Framework, which provided strategic recommendations and action plans to position Malaysia as a regional BDA hub.
With over a decade of experience, Peter’s professional strengths encompass data science strategies, web development, project management, and thought leadership. His industry experience spans media, internet, manufacturing, FMCG, e-learning, and agriculture. He has conducted numerous training sessions and masterclasses on big data strategy for a wide range of organizations, including NTT Data, Pos Aviation, Maxis, and Johnson & Johnson. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he adapted his training methods to virtual platforms, continuing to educate senior managers and executives from companies like Citibank, Intel, Dell, and Maxis Broadband.
